I am thankful that a year ago this Saturday the 7.1 earthquake near our home in Alaska did not do more damage. My family had no injuries, and we were able to get the repairs made that were needed.

Hi Shiho-san, I love your Chopstick Chronicles!
We don’t celebrate Thanksgiving here in New Zealand, which is a shame, but we give thanks at Christmas, when we are with all our loved ones. The thing I am most grateful for is the good health of my only child – my nine- year-old daughter, Verity.

Thanks for sharing the recipes! I love those. For this year’s Thanksgiving, I am grateful for my whole family. Our little girl is turning one and has been given us so much joy. My husband and I are taking care of her ourselves as both our parents are in our home country. I am also grateful for our dog, Lovey, a feisty but silly rescue. I am grateful for everybody.

There’s are so many things I am thankful for. The most important of these is being alive. I was in a car acccident that should have taken my life but Someone was watching out for me. While I had multiple broken bones (they heal, right?), I did not have any head, neck, ot spine injuries. Everyday I am grateful to be alive. I am grateful I will see my daughter and son-in-law grow together in love. I will see my granddaughter, their daughter, grow up (and I will spoil her, of course). I will see my sons accomplish there goals and eventually marry and have their own families. I am grateful I am alive to see all this and feel all the emotions that go with this. I am also grateful for finding this blog because these recipes are amazing and easy to make. Thank you, Shihoko.
