Remove plastic packages from the Mochi and place them on the pre heated waffle iron.
Press the waffle iron after about one and half minutes and leave it pressed for a further 30 seconds.
Turn the waffle iron over and cook the other side for 2 minutes.
Remove mochi waffles from the waffle iron and serve on a plate.
Top with your chosen ingredients.

If you are going to make your own mochi from sweet mochi rice, see my How to make mochi recipe. *2 I used "Shiratamako" I bought from a local Japanese grocery store. It had an after taste even though it listed only sweet rice as ingredient.
