Yakitori Chicken

Yakitori are delicious and healthy grilled chicken skewers that are perfect for a bbq! They taste so delicious with the yakitori sauce and are easy to make!

  • Soak 15 skewers in water for 10 minutes so that the skeweres don't get burnt.
  • Cut the chicken into small cubes.
  • Cut the white end part of the shallots into about 2 cm long pieces.
  • Put 2 chicken peices on to a skewer then 1 shallot alternately and repeat same for all 15 skewers.
  • Heat the BBQ with half a grill plate and half a trinket.
  • Place the yakitori skewers on the grill side to cook the chicken for about 5 minutes on medium heat.
  • Turn the skewers over and cook for another 5 minutes.
  • Place a little frying pan on the trinket and pour the teriyaki sauce on the frying pan and heat and stir to thicken it.
  • Place the cooked chicken skewers into the frying pan and coat with the teriyaki sauce.
  • Serve the yakitori skewers on rice or serve with green salad.


Nutritional value is per one skewer. 
Any part of chicken can be used.
